Foundations of Stress Optimisation (Members)
A micro-course for stressed people to optimise and use stress for calm performance amidst change.
This short course is for anyone who wants to understand, manage and optimise stress. Breaking the myth that all stress is key to performing at your best without burning out.
Each micro-course uses neuroscience to optimise your learning. Each course is limited to just 1 hour investment of your time and combines the following aspects to increase the chance you will succeed in changing yourself:
- Micro-learning to avoid overwhelm and allow you to easily absorb lessons
- Tools and Practises to enable you to practise easily
- One Time-boxed exercise to take away and build the right habits.
- Clear Direction to explore further and take it to the next level - when you're ready.

James is the founder of The Wellbeing Gym, a wellbeing and performance training consultancy based in Dublin, Ireland. He is also a co-founder of TheWellnessOrchard.com.
A mathematician by background, James is also qualified in innovation & design thinking, a certified agile coach, lean six sigma and as an ICF-accredited personal and executive coach.
James is also certified in neuroscience and brain health. He brings all these disciplines together to help people envision their future and consciously move toward it using a human-centric coaching and mentorship approach.

I’m James Parnell, the Founder of The Wellbeing Gym.
I am so grateful to create this micro-course for you as part of The Wellbeing Academy.
Our mission is to firstly inspire, then guide and enable people to lead, not just healthy, but fulfilling lives.
The funny thing about wellbeing is that, deep down, we all know what’s good for us. All of us have a built-in common (intuitive) sense. But it’s not always common action as we’ve built ingrained habits that may no longer serve us.
I have personally tested and used everything in this guide - as well as with hundreds of coaching clients. But that doesn’t automatically mean it will work for you. Everyone is different. So I encourage you to embrace your natural style and take what appeals to you. Because, this course is not about taking on more. It's about simplifying, ‘unlearning’ old habits, discarding distractions and noise that no longer serves us.
That is, returning to our true nature in order that we are happier.
My ask of you (and what you should ask of yourself) is simple - to put your own well-being first. It may seem selfish but if you do, trust me that everybody around you wins.
So let this moment be your line in the sand, one you look back on in years to come and say “that's the moment I started to prioritise my well-being and everyone around me benefitted".
